Lajuan (Nichols) Norvelle supplied a 1953-54 Yearbook from which much of this information was taken.

The Yearbook for this year list only three bus drivers.  Were there only three bus routes this year?  I had other reports that this was the case in the last few years of operation.

Apparently both 7 & 8 were integrated into the high school program. The number of teachers appears to have dropped to seven.

• 3^rd & 4^th Grades: Mrs. V. E. (Opal )Woods in Room 2 (?)
• 5^th & 6^th Grades: Mr. M. L. Sims in Room 3
• 7^th & 8^th Grades: Probably several teachers from the high school staff, but probably all work in Room 4
• 9^th through 12^th Grades: Mr. Thomas Avants – Commerce, Mrs. Virginia Sims – English & Home Economics, Mr. Lloyd Howeth – Coach & History.
